Looking for Flights?
Flight Search Engines
Going (formerly Scott’s Cheap Flights)
Sign up for email alerts for cheap flights from your local airport hub, and keep your eyes peeled for a good deal. Be ready, once it comes they usually only last a few days.
Google Flights
While we are not above booking flights through third-party websites with points, it is honestly the best idea to purchase your flight directly through the airline. Use Google Flights to see when and where the best deals are from your local airport.
Traveling Internationally?
My musts when Leaving the US:
E-sim: Airalo
Use code ADVENTURES for 15% off!
Unless you have an international cell phone plan, or free international data like with T-Mobile, you will need a sim card to use your phone in another country. Airalo is an e-sim that digitally connects to networks without having to manually insert a sim card. This allows you to still have your main sim card in your phone while still having service abroad.
Travel Insurance: SafetyWing
We recently used SafetyWing to cover us while traveling through Central America. I loved how easy it was to sign up while we were already abroad, and that it covered us through Costa Rica, Guatemala, and Belize. Luckily, I have never had to use it, but I asked around and heard good things from other friends who needed to get medical care while abroad.
